Quentin Goin

Quentin Goin

Quentin Goin, Products Director – guides the development of TLM’s products in the U.S., including converting customer needs into product requirements and serving as a liaison between technical support, development, and sales. He draws on over 20 years in software, most recently as senior enterprise sales engineer at Skyline Products and a consultant to Wells Fargo. He has his Foundation ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Certification for best practices in IT service management.

  • Favorite part of the job: Building relationships and working with customers to determine what they need to succeed. Working with family-owned businesses with people who care about others – it’s fun to work with companies who want the best for their employees. The best part is when I’m considered part of their company/family.
  • How you got into the c-store industry: After working as a sales engineer in the development software industry, I was looking for a smaller company and industry with a more intimate feel. I didn’t have that within my previous employment. After learning about this industry, I couldn’t leave. It continues to advance technically, while preserving the same small industry feel.
  • Favorite things about TLM: Not being afraid to tackle the hard problems, step out on the edge, and try a new idea. It is what has led to building cutting-edge products for today and into the future.
  • The future of the industry: Open integration strategies are replacing proprietary communications. Continued reliance on mobile and leveraging Extended Intelligence/Artificial Intelligence to glean actionable observations from data that users wouldn’t otherwise know about.
  • Top neglected area where c-stores can gain the biggest advantage: Truly understanding each store’s ability to sell fuel and in-store products.
  • Top questions customers ask you: What is next? Can you make my pain go away?
  • Favorite “must-have” c-store item: A cup of coffee always hits the spot.
  • Favorite saying or quote: Treat others as you want to be treated.
  • What would you be doing if you weren’t Products Director? Still in software.
  • Favorite “football” team: NFL Broncos. University of Nebraska Lincoln Huskers.
  • Favorite hobbies: Cycling, hiking, fixing things around the house, and spending time with my family.
  • First job: Detasseling corn during the summers. It taught me to stay in college and get a degree.
  • Fun fact: Currently restoring a 1933 Chevy farm truck.
